Enrollment Management Team,

The occasional spring weather has been a welcome change from the winter that we have had this year. Most of you know that we have two dogs in addition to our two sons, so spring is often a time filled with muddy paws and shoes at our house.

We are extending the opportunity to nominate colleagues for the Enrollment Management Divisional Awards through the end of next week (3/28). Please consider recognizing the great work happening in our division by submitting a nomination form. We will recognize honorees and award winners at the EM Divisional End of Semester Celebration on May 20^th.

Enrollment Projections & Updates

• SUNY Brockport continues to be in a position of strength related to our enrollment. In the last few SUNY reports, we are leading the SUNY comprehensive universities in the number of first year and transfer deposits for fall 2025.
• We updated the university enrollment projections recently, which includes an increased target of 1250 first year students and 725 transfer students for fall 2025. The target university headcount for fall 2025 is 7,751.
• Fall to spring retention of our first-year students has increased (87.4% compared to 82.4% last year), a high since fall 2017. We are looking forward to completing Georgia State University’s National Institute of Student Success Diagnostic and Playbook this spring, which can help us learn additional ways that we can elevate our student persistence efforts.
• The investment in the institution’s scholarship program supports students being able to afford attending Brockport, and it supports students staying at the university through graduation. Scholarship recipients retain at a higher rate, too. Fall 2024 first time student scholarship recipients retained at a rate of 92.6% compared to 80.4% of non-recipients.

Accepted Student Days are on March 29^th and April 12^th. Thank you to everyone who will be attending and helping our prospective students find their home here at Brockport!

The annual Diversity Conference will be held on Wednesday April 2^nd. Check out the schedule and please consider attending.

Scholars Day will be held on Wednesday, April 9^th. This year’s event includes student presentations, panel presentations, food trucks, and more.

Students loved to see Ellsworth driving around with me during our March Random Acts of Kindness activities, and we had a lot of great Brockport swag giveaways for them! Ellsworth will always be #1, even if he didn’t advance to the next round in Mascot Madness this year.

We rely heavily on data in our division, often focusing on various enrollment metrics and targets. We also formally and informally collect student feedback. As I see our staff and students throughout campus, I consistently hear stories of how a student found support in one of our offices, how they resolved a problem thanks to the help of an EM staff member, and how our team has brightened someone’s day. Thank you for all that you do to make the Enrollment Management Division an innovative, welcoming, supportive place for each other and for our students. I hope to see you soon!
