Enrollment Management Team,
This time of year, brings a focus on annual reporting, offering a valuable opportunity to reflect on our achievements and lay a strong foundation for the year ahead. Since 2022, we’ve seen remarkable growth: new first-year students have increased by 28%, and new transfer students by nearly 32%, marking the largest growth in the SUNY comprehensive sector during this timeframe. We are on track to achieve our fall 2025 targets, with 1410 first year student deposits and 689 transfer student deposits. This success is a testament to the collective efforts of every individual and department across the university, with special recognition to our outstanding team of dedicated professionals in Enrollment Management.
We’re on track to meet our EOP target, with a significant increase in EOP deposits compared to last year. This past Sunday, we proudly welcomed 80 new EOP students to campus for the start of the EOP Summer Academy. It was a pleasure connecting with students and their families throughout the week. The energy and excitement on campus is building once again, and it’s great to see the community coming back to life.
Aligned with our Strategic Enrollment Management plan, Athletics is on track to surpass last year’s record number of student athletes, with approximately 875 student athletes for 25-26, up from 824 last year, 717 in 2023, and 662 in 2022.Student athlete retention remains strong, about 12-17% higher than non-athletes.
We have our first Golden Eagle Orientation for incoming first year students TODAY. As we engage with students and their families, thank you for your warm welcome and supportive interactions. Orientation is a collaborative, campuswide effort that seamlessly connects to Welcome Week and the broader first-year experience. I deeply appreciate everyone, both behind the scenes and on the front lines, who is contributing to orientation and helping our students feel at home at SUNY Brockport.
We are working on a divisional professional development program focused on leadership for 25-26. More information will be available in the August newsletter. Please feel free to share ideas and feedback with me as we map out our plan for next year.
