Greetings Colleagues,
This time of year brings a focus on annual reporting, offering us a valuable opportunity to reflect on our achievements and lay a strong foundation for the year ahead. We have experienced remarkable growth over the past three years: new first-year students have increased by 28%, and new transfer students by nearly 32%, marking the largest growth in the SUNY comprehensive sector. New graduate students have also increased significantly during this three-year timeframe, with annual growth exceeding each prior year (727, 854, 873). For fall 2025, total enrollment is expected to have increased by approximately 20% since 2022.
This success is a testament to the collective efforts of every individual and department across the university. Thank you for making SUNY Brockport the institution of choice for our new students, and for all that you do to support our continuing students towards graduation.

The fall 2025 projection is 7,751, with an anticipated 6,011 undergraduate students and 1,740 graduate students enrolled at census. We currently have 7,359 students registered for fall classes, consisting of 5,822 undergraduate students and 1,537 graduate students. Based on the historical registration progress, we are optimistic about hitting our overall enrollment goal.
Direct Admit Pilot for 25-26
Direct admission is becoming an increasingly popular strategy in undergraduate recruitment, allowing students to receive admission offers without submitting a traditional application. Some SUNY institutions have already explored this approach through the NYS Top 10% initiative launched in 2024. We are piloting a direct admit program with clearly defined criteria to determine whether it can expand our pool of admitted students, specifically targeting those with a high school GPA of 93 or higher. These students will be tracked separately in our admissions reports to evaluate the effectiveness of the pilot program.
Advising
We have registered approximately 96% of first year students with their freshmen surveys submitted. New students were notified they were registered for classes before arriving for Golden Eagle Orientation, providing students with an opportunity to ask questions and receive clarification before arriving on campus this summer. In addition, over 600 new transfers and readmitted students have been registered for classes. We continue to streamline advising practices across the University and will host another cohort of Principal Advisors this fall, focused on advising best practices and building on advising procedures within departments. The official invitation will be sent through the Daily Eagle in August.
The energy of Golden Eagle Orientation and the EOP Summer Academy is radiating across campus this month. Both programs are full, and students are actively participating in meaningful, engaging experiences as they begin their onboarding and journey at SUNY Brockport.
With gratitude,
