SUNY Brockport Presidential Search

Dear Campus Community,

In the time since our last report, the formation of the Search Committee has been completed. The committee consists of 18 members from University constituencies and a representative designated by Chancellor King. Following the Chancellor’s charge to the Search Committee next week, we will share the list of its members.

With respect to a search consultant, we received 14 responses to SUNY’s RFP. A subgroup of the committee, ably assisted by Ian Harper and SUNY’s Zulaika Rodriguez, selected three firms to interview. From those three, the group selected WittKieffer, a leading national educational search firm with considerable SUNY experience. WittKieffer has been retained, and a preliminary meeting was held yesterday with their team, led by Melody Rose, PhD. 

The Search Committee will hold its first meeting next week. At that meeting, the WittKieffer team will be introduced, and the structure and process of the search and its opportunities and objectives will be discussed. Finally, the Chancellor will give the Search Committee its charge.

The next step in the process will involve you, the campus community. In the coming weeks, WittKieffer will conduct a community survey and hold a number of listening sessions about your expectations for the search. So stay tuned! The committee values your input.
