Greetings Colleagues,
This season of gratitude reminds us of all we have to celebrate at SUNY Brockport, including the 1,136 guests and dozens of faculty and staff who joined us for our November Open House. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to this successful event and to those who worked tirelessly to prepare for the event.
SUNY Comparison: Earlier this week, SUNY released a systemwide enrollment update that includes 1- and 5-year enrollment data for your review. The first-time enrollment comparison highlights the 17.6% growth at Brockport between fall 2020 and fall 2025. You will see that the fall 2024 and fall 2025 comparison shows a slight decrease in incoming first year students resulting from the difference of 1,310 compared to 1,277. However, please note that our first-year numbers were still above our 1,250 target. The SUNY Comprehensive section experienced a +2.2% overall enrollment growth from fall 2024 to fall 2025, with SUNY Brockport growing +6% during that same timeframe.
SUNY Academic Momentum Campaign: The Strategic Enrollment Management groups are accomplishing a tremendous amount of work this fall, with a special focus on the new SUNY Academic Momentum Campaign. This is a system-wide effort to boost student outcomes at each institution, requiring the support and engagement of every division at the university to achieve our institutional goals. The SEM Graduation & Momentum Task Force is leading the development of our campus plan, due to SUNY in early February. This initiative will challenge us to accelerate innovation and implement potential new strategies. We are committed to ensuring this process is transparent and collaborative across the university, prioritizing communication and partnership as we work to position SUNY Brockport as a leader among SUNY comprehensive institutions. We invite you to share your ideas and suggestions by completing this brief survey by December 5th. In addition to the various campus presentations that have already occurred, there will be more opportunities to provide feedback on potential plans in the upcoming months.
The SEM Retention & Persistence Council presented the annual first-year retention analysis at the Joint Planning & Budget Committee on November 13th. The interactive Power BI retention dashboard is available for your review.
First year, Transfer and Graduate applications are running on par or ahead of last year for spring and fall. We are optimistic that we remain on track to achieve our spring and fall enrollment goals. Mark your calendars for Spring Accepted Student Days on March 28th and April 18th.
Thank you for all you do to make Brockport a truly welcoming and supportive place for our students. Wishing you a smooth and healthy end to the semester.
