Greetings Colleagues,
The semester started out with frigid temperatures and heavy snow, which was balanced out by the warm welcome that you offered to our students for the start of the spring 2026 semester. Now that the first 3 weeks are behind us, our preliminary spring 2026 enrollment data is available.
Recruitment & Enrollment Update
-
Overall Enrollment: We exceeded our spring enrollment target with 7,424 students currently registered for the spring 2026 semester, an increase from 7,166 in spring 2025, and 6,593 in spring 2024. 5,645 undergraduate and 1,779 graduate students are enrolled.
-
Fall to Spring Retention: For fall 2025 first-time, full-time students, the fall to spring retention rate is 87.3%, which is similar to last year and significantly higher than prior years. The full-time transfer student retention rate is 90.4%, the highest since 2010.

Fall 2026 UG Recruitment Update: Undergraduate applications continue to surpass last year’s trends, with 14,556 undergraduate fall applications, compared to 12,850 in 2025 and 11,894 in 2024. This has resulted in an increase in accepted students, 10,119 compared to 8,566 in 2025 and 8,032 in 2024. The most recent SUNY comparison report shows Brockport as having the most fall 2026 first-year and transfer deposits among the comprehensive universities at this point in time.

As we get further into the summer and fall 2026 cycles, more information on transfer and graduate applications and deposits will be shared.
The recruitment landscape is increasingly competitive every year, and this year is no exception. We are seeing unprecedented growth at the SUNY University Centers at these early stages of the fall 2026 recruitment cycle. We proactively monitor trends and implement evolving recruitment strategies to remain competitive in this space. We are in a strong position because of our dedicated faculty and staff collaborating on strategic enrollment management activities throughout the entire year. This level of collaboration, teamwork, and shared ownership of enrollment is a critical part of our success and a differentiating factor for our university. Thank you for your support and collaboration.
SUNY Academic Momentum Campaign Update:
Over the past year, the campus has made meaningful progress in advancing the recommendations from the National Institute for Student Success (NISS), while simultaneously implementing the priority actions outlined in the SUNY Academic Momentum Campaign. Together, these efforts are strengthening advising structures, early warning processes, improving coordination across student support departments, and creating more consistent, student‑centered pathways to success.
After developing drafts and collecting feedback over the past couple of months, the SEM Graduation & Momentum Task Force submitted the campus plan for SUNY’s Academic Momentum Campaign on February 5th. We look forward to hearing back from SUNY in the next few weeks. A sincere thank you to our campus partners for providing valuable insight and feedback.
Student retention and persistence remain our greatest opportunities, supported by the expanding engagement initiatives and resources that help students succeed. The meaningful, supportive relationships students build with our faculty and staff make a substantial difference in their success. Thank you for everything you do to help our students find their place and feel at home at SUNY Brockport.
