Dear Golden Eagles,

Spring is on the way! And hopefully some warmer weather. I have a couple of updates; I’d like to share regarding the campus climate survey and the annual diversity conference.

The campus climate survey committee has been hard at work analyzing the results of the survey findings, and I am now prepared to share the findings with the Brockport community. Below are the dates, times, and locations for the upcoming in-person forums starting next week. You are invited to attend the forum that is applicable to you (faculty/staff or students). I will also be presenting the faculty/staff results during the March 23rd University Senate meeting. Additional presentations to Brockport Student Government and a virtual format are being scheduled.

As announced earlier in February, the annual diversity conference has been postponed until fall of 2026. I’m happy to share that a new date has been confirmed. The 24th Annual Diversity Conference: Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in the Current Landscape will take place Friday, October 2, 2026, in the Seymour Union. Our keynote speak is Dr. Sunita Sah, scholar, and author of “DEFY: The Power of No in a World that Demands Yes.

We invite and encourage students, faculty, and staff to submit a proposal. We request proposals that are 45 - 75 minutes in length (including Q&A) that relate to the conference theme. Presentations should focus on research or evidence-based actions that result in awareness, knowledge and skill development referencing one or more of the above-mentioned conference themes.
