SUNY Brockport Presidential Search

Thursday, February 19, 2026

Dear Campus Community:

Mother Nature precluded our planned January 26 campus visit by our Presidential Search consultants from WittKieffer and an in-person Search Committee meeting. Nonetheless, WittKieffer is now six weeks into its eight-week recruiting period, and I am happy to report that they are developing a robust pool of candidates. The deadline for applications is March 5.

The Search Committee will evaluate the candidates at its meeting in late March and select up to 15 for in-depth evaluation, which will include personal interviews with the Committee via Zoom. Following these interviews, the Committee will select five candidates for on-campus visits and interviews. These visits, tentatively scheduled for April 17-April 23, will follow the representational model described in a previous campus message.

This representational model means that specific groups will be meeting with the candidates during their respective on-campus visit in April. The groups represented are faculty, staff, shared governance partners, management confidential employees, and student leaders.

Because of the larger pool size of eligible faculty and staff employees, we will distribute a form soliciting nominations for them to participate in the on-campus interview process. These forms will be sent to the campus in the next few days, and the nominations will be due in late March. Those selected to participate in the on-campus visits will need to commit to attending all five on-campus visits in April. The other representative groups will be receiving separate communication about their participation.

We will next provide an update to you once WittKieffer has provided the Committee with the pool for us to review.
