Enrollment Management Team,
The frigid weather has not made walking around campus easy this spring semester, but every day is one day closer to spring! Our Random Acts of Kindness programs included giving out hot chocolate and snacks to students on some of the coldest days of the year, which was very popular! I appreciate how we all find ways to help make our students feel special and demonstrate that we are grateful that they are part of our community.
EM Divisional Awards Reminder: Don’t forget to nominate a colleague for our Enrollment Management Divisional Awards Program! Applications are due by March 15th: Use this link to nominate your colleagues! We will celebrate all nominees and each other at our end of semester celebration on Tuesday, May 19th, 1-2:30pm, NY Room, with light refreshments.
At the start of each semester, it is helpful to review reporting resources and refresh ourselves on policies and procedures. I listed a few key resources for your reference:

Issues Reporting Center: There are many ways to report concerns to the appropriate offices on campus. This page includes information how to report concerns related to student conduct, bias, HR, Title IX, facilities, etc. Please consult with your supervisor or reach out directly to me if you are ever unsure about where to refer a student or how to share a concern.

Basic Needs Resources: Resources are available to support students who may be facing food or housing insecurity, or who may need access to emergency funding.

Emergency Management Resources: There are a few training videos on workplace violence and resources for you to regularly review on this webpage. There is a new emergency alert system, so please pay attention to your emails about updating your information in that system.

Advising & Student Support Programs (A&SSP) continues to register students for 2nd quarter courses. Please contact Erin Rickman for options.

Undeclared student workshops are being regularly offered, with the next one being held on February 26, 2-3:15pm in the ASC (room 167). Students will have an opportunity to meet Career Design Center experts and discuss different tools to identify possible majors and careers of interest.

A&SSP has begun preparation for freshmen registration for fall 2026. Staff members will connect with academic chairs to discuss 4-year plans and first semester schedules soon.
Educational Opportunity Program:

The EOP’s Black History Month Celebration was held on February 19 in collaboration with Enrollment Management, Student Affairs, and other campus partners. There was food, trivia, performances, guided dance sessions, and socializing. Thanks to Tausha Hill for her coordination of an amazing and successful event with approximately 100 attendees.

Haylee Bish, communications major and senior EOP student, has been selected to receive the Norman McConney Jr. Award. This award goes to a deserving EOP senior who has faced significant challenges in life to achieve education and personal excellence. Congratulations, Haylee!

EOP’s first of two spring campus wide Kickball tournaments has been rescheduled to March 11, 5-8 pm, Tuttle South. All are welcome to participate.

The FAO has a refreshed look with new carpet, paint, and front desk for a welcoming space for our students. Our new wall sign, coming soon, will be the cherry on top! Please stop by to say hello and see the new space.
Intercollegiate Athletics:

The Brockport wrestling program recently captured the 2026 SUNYAC Championship, defeating eight competing institutions to secure the conference title. Two Golden Eagles claimed individual championships, while four additional wrestlers earned runner-up finishes at the tournament.

The Brockport men’s basketball team has won eight consecutive games, highlighted by its Empire 8 Conference Tournament quarterfinal victory at SUNY Poly on Saturday. The Golden Eagles will host St. John Fisher in the conference semifinal on Wednesday, February 25, with the winner advancing to the Empire 8 Championship game.

The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) Executive Board was recently honored with the Brockport’s Best Award, recognizing its outstanding leadership, service, and commitment to the Brockport community. From coordinating impactful service initiatives such as the annual holiday fundraiser for Barclay Elementary to representing the student-athlete voice across campus, SAAC continues to make a meaningful and lasting impact. Congratulations, SAAC!
