Enrollment Updates
-
SUNY Brockport continues to be in a position of strength and stability related to our enrollment. In the last few SUNY reports, we are in the lead among the SUNY comprehensive universities in the number of first year and transfer deposits for fall 2026.
-
We updated the university enrollment projections recently, which includes a target of 1,225 first year students and 700 transfer students for fall 2026. The target university headcount for fall 2026 is 7,968.
-
Accepted Student Days are on March 28th and April 18th. Thank you to everyone who will be attending and helping our prospective students find their home here at Brockport!
SUNY Academic Momentum:
We received positive feedback from SUNY about our SUNY AcMo draft that was submitted in February. Erin Rickman and Rey Sia are leading our efforts to operationalize our proposed plan. A cross divisional team led by Shellie Tucker, Erin Rickman, and Seth Johnston will work on implementing a new technology to support on-time graduation and improved degree planning: Ellucian Smart Plan & Award. More information to follow as we get further into the implementation process.

Our students continue to shine at SUNY Brockport:
-
Brockport student Haylee Bish won the 2026 Norman R. McConney, Jr. Award for EOP Student Excellence. Please congratulate her when you see her!
- The Student Athlete Advisory Committee won the Brockport Central School District’s Brockport’s Best Award in February for their community service with the district. They have several additional service programs coming up, including a book program at School #50.
- The EOP Kickball Event was a lot of fun, with members of the swim team and their friends taking first place. I can’t wait for the next one on April 29th! If you are interested in participating in an EM team, please reach out and we can form a team together.
- The men’s track & field program sent three student-athletes to compete at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships in Birmingham, Alabama, this past weekend. Sophomore Tim Smith earned First Team All-American honors after advancing to the finals of the 800-meter race and finishing seventh overall. Sophomore Dennis Bobbitt placed ninth overall in the long jump to earn Second Team All-American honors, while senior Gabe Giannini also secured Second Team All-American honors with an 11th-place finish in the heptathlon.
- The wrestling program qualified two freshmen for the NCAA Division III Wrestling Championships in Iowa this past weekend. Trevor Middendorf and Mike Welsh each earned their place at the national championships after finishing second at the NCAA Region II Championships. Sending two wrestlers to nationals capped an outstanding season for the Golden Eagles, highlighted by the program capturing the 2026 SUNYAC Championship—its first conference tournament title in 20 years.
- The men’s basketball team closed the season on a strong run, winning nine of its final ten games and earning the opportunity to host the 2026 Empire 8 Men’s Basketball Championship. The title game was played in front of a capacity crowd at Brockport against Keuka College on February 28. The Golden Eagles fell just short in the championship contest and finished the season with a 16–12 overall record.
-
Women’s basketball senior Stephanie Jean Baptiste was named the 2026 Empire 8 Conference Player of the Year following a remarkable career with the Golden Eagles. The Jersey City, New Jersey native will graduate as one of the most accomplished players in program history, ranking among the program’s all-time leaders in several categories, including points (1,578 – 4th), steals (194 – 2nd), field goals made (598 – 3rd), and three-pointers made (147 – 4th).
We are continuing our Random Acts of Kindness program, with our next event scheduled for Tuesday, March 24th. If you are interested in joining one of our programs to brighten our students’ days, please contact us.
I hope you can find some time to recharge this spring break before the second half of the semester starts. Thank you for your hard work, dedication, and unwavering support of our students.
