CIO Office
To better serve the campus, BITS was reorganized into five functional areas earlier this year. As a reminder, below are the key areas and their respective points of contact. All positions report directly to the CIO.

Retirements/Departures: I want to thank the following BITS folks for their dedicated support to SUNY Brockport. They will all be greatly missed.

Apple Charger:
- If you need an Apple laptop charger, please use CDWG to determine which one you need and order on CDWG using your P-Card. Please contact Procurement with any questions you may have.

The best way to get assistance is to contact the appropriate BITS Service Desk Option when you need assistance or to put in a ticket in the BITS Service Desk Portal.
- Option 1 - Service Desk - General Technical Support
- Option 2 - Telecommunications (This will go to the Service Desk if no one is available, to create a ticket for Telecom)
- Option 3 - ResNet Support for assistance in the Residence Halls
- Option 5 - Classroom Technology Assistance
- Option 6 - Brightspace Support
- Option 7 - Printer Support for hardware or supply-related issues for printers with a “Toshiba Business Solutions” support sticker on them.
Information Security
BITS is in the process of interviewing candidates for our new Director of Information Security.
Project Management and Enterprise Applications
The BITS Project Management Office has launched a new dashboard that provides the campus community with a high‑level view of the number of projects currently underway within each division of the university.
- Log in to the BITS Portal, select the tab for Project Management, and click on “University Technology Projects” directly below the Help BITS Help You! logo.
- For new project requests, select the tab for Project Management, and click on “Technology Project or Consulting Requests”.
MachForm Workshops Offered:
Register for a MachForm Workshop whether you are new to MachForm or looking to expand your skills. Choose from a variety of topics, including “Introduction to MachForm”, “Making MachForm Accessible”, and “Creating Email Templates in Machform”.
Systems and Networking
The transition from our Cisco phone system to Teams Calling is nearly complete. The remaining departments—University Police, Financial Aid, Student Accounts, Hazen Health Center, and the IT Service Desk—have specialized requirements, and we anticipate completing their transition before June. Once this is finished, we will host listening sessions to gather campus feedback and answer questions so we can continue to fine‑tune the system and tailor it to our evolving needs.
