Dear Colleagues,
SUNY Brockport is one of 10 campuses selected to participate in the Advancing Campus Pluralism Cohort, an initiative sponsored by Interfaith America in partnership with the State University of New York. I am seeking faculty and staff members interested in serving on the initiative’s working group.
This pilot program provides each campus with funding to establish a pluralism leadership team and working group that will develop and implement a strategic plan to advance campus pluralism during the 2026–2027 academic year. The working group will include 10–12 faculty and staff members representing multiple divisions across the university.
Participation in this initiative will help Brockport strengthen leadership-level support for civic engagement on campus and align with national best practices in bridging and pluralism. Program funding may be used to support a variety of curricular and co-curricular activities designed to enhance campus culture and encourage constructive dialogue.
If you are interested in serving on this committee, please complete this form by Monday, June 8, 2026.
More information about Interfaith America’s approach to fostering pluralism in higher education is available here.
SUNY Brockport will also participate in the inaugural cohort of the Campus Discourse Challenge with ALL IN and Campus Compact. As members of the 2026-2028 cohort, as part of a community of practice, efforts will focus on theories and best practices of public discourse, landscape analysis and action planning, and evaluation. Those interested may contact Karen Podsiadly, Director - SULA at kpodsiad@brockport.edu
