Hello Golden Eagles,

As March ends, I’d like to invite you to participate in and make you aware of some upcoming equity, diversity, and inclusion-related events.

Don’t forget to Register! The Office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion invites you to join us at the 22nd Annual Diversity Conference: Creating Brave Spaces, on March 27, 2024.

This year’s conference is aimed at encouraging participation and facilitating respectful yet thought-provoking discussions; these spaces invite and encourage diverse perspectives and opinions within our community. The conference will center on strategies for establishing, nurturing, and maintaining these brave spaces at SUNY Brockport.

To assist us in bringing this year’s theme to light, we are honored to have Mrs. Kasha Davis as our keynote speaker! Mrs. Kasha Davis plays a central role in the Rochester, NY drag scene. Beyond performing in her one- woman show and as a featured artist nationwide, MKD openly shares her coming out journey, a path to sobriety and vibrant performances intertwined with her favorite sons and witty “Dad jokes in a dress.” Her relatable stories blend forgiveness, determination, motivation, and self -acceptance, captivating audiences of all ages.

Religious Holidays:

As mentioned in the February 5^th message regarding religious accommodations, there are several major religious holidays taking place during the spring semester. As a reminder, the following holidays are currently or will take place over the next 6 weeks (about 1 and a half months):

• Ramadan, Mach 10-April 8, 2024
• Easter, March 31, 2024
• Passover, April 22-30, 2024
