Dear Colleagues,

Whether you were here on campus working or volunteering, or spending time at home or another location, I hope you had a chance to experience the eclipse on Monday. While the clouds were not welcome, the community was—and I am so glad that we had a great event on campus. There was a core group of people who organized the day, from entertainment to parking to food trucks to security and wellbeing, and I am grateful to each and every one of you. Thank you for all of your efforts.

Among the meetings that occurred this week were our monthly UUP Labor-Management meeting and the Brockport Alumni Association meeting. In terms of other events, we welcomed EuroSim back to campus this week. EuroSim was founded at SUNY Brockport back in 1987, and we last hosted the simulated European Union experience back in 2017. Additionally, I served as a panelist on the New York American Association of University Women (AAUW) Conference on leadership in higher education.

Our first candidate for the VP for Administration and Finance was on campus this week. If you had any interactions with the candidate, please fill out the evaluation form so that the search committee can reflect on your feedback.

On Saturday we will host about 1000 people for our Accepted Student Day. Thank you in advance if you are taking part in this important event.

Finally, we are having a celebration in honor of Ellsworth’s SUNY Mascot Madness championship today at 2:30 in the Seymour Union Ballroom. Please come along and join in the fun!
