Dear Colleagues,

We welcomed two more VP for Administration and Finance candidates to campus this week. If you had any interactions with the candidates, I would be grateful if you could fill out the relevant evaluation forms, so that the search committee can reflect on your feedback. A number of other searches are also taking place across the university.

This was a busy week with events on campus, starting with Scholars Day on Monday. I hope you had an opportunity to listen to our students present their work or view their posters. I continue to be impressed by the ways that our students rise to the challenge of undergraduate and graduate research projects, and I am grateful to the faculty who support these efforts. The week finishes with our annual Honors and Awards Ceremony this afternoon at 3:30. I hope to see many of you there as we celebrate the accomplishments of our students, knowing what an important part you have played in their successes. Next week the celebrations continue with the Student Leadership Awards ceremony taking place on Monday.

I spent time at REOC/Brockport Downtown this week, had a telephone meeting with our mayor, and had a meeting with SUNY regarding support for transfer students. New Employee Support Training (NEST) took place this week as did JPBC. Later today I will be swearing in a new university police officer and promoting another officer to the rank of lieutenant.

Over the weekend, the campus will be busy with Senior Day for women’s lacrosse, Eagle Day, and Scholars Sleepover.

I know that as the semester winds down in some respects, it becomes busier in others, and I want to thank you for the energy you put into all of the celebrations, the investment in our students’ education, and all that you do in terms of service.
