Process & Guidelines
- A student starts the process by scheduling an exam. An automatic email will be sent to the professor stating the date/time of the scheduled exam. A professor can reply to that email if the student has scheduled for the incorrect date/time.
- Students must schedule their test greater than 72 hours in advance to utilize the testing center. It is not guaranteed we’ll be able to schedule exams with less than 72 hours’ notice, but in some instances, we may be able to. Students may make a last-minute request by contacting our office by email or phone.
- Students should schedule their Exam for the same time as the class unless there is a direct class conflict. Email our office if you disagree with the time a student has scheduled an Exam. Please provide all information needed relating to the time of that Exam.
- Our testing center is a resource for professors to utilize for their students.
- If the Exam Form is not received (and the professor does not communicate with SAS) by 10am the day before the exam, the exam may be cancelled by the SAS Testing Center. The instructor might then have to use departmental resources to provide testing accommodations for that student or allow that student to reschedule with the SAS Testing Center. Note the 72-Hour window for students to schedule/re-schedule those exams.
- We need to be able to reach instructors with questions to ensure an equitable experience for the students testing with SAS who don’t have direct instructor access.
- If a student has a question during the test to ask the instructor, our staff will contact the instructor either by phone or email pending the best contact method.
- Our office is not able to text.
- Instructors must also relay any additional information provided to the class (clarifications, edits to questions, extra credit, etc).
- Please email sastest@brockport.edu and we will provide that information to the student.
- If a student is caught with an item they are not allowed to have, suspected of cheating, or disregarding testing center policies while taking the test, a SAS staff member will confiscate the item (if applicable), and the student will be allowed to continue the test. However, the information about the incident, time, and the description of the item will be shared with the professor.
