Update – It is great to see all the students on campus, eager to begin the Fall 2023 semester! As I am still a campus resident, I have the chance to interact with some students on a daily basis during my walks with my furry friend, Shadow. I hear plenty of good things about how the campus looks, the living arrangements in the residence hall, the food, the internet connectivity (this is REALLY important to them!), and the opportunities for social engagement. Speaking of social engagement, we are currently beginning the next round of campus festivities with Homecoming Weekend beginning Thursday, October 5th and culminating in a SUNY Brockport Football Game against Hartwick College on Saturday, October 7th! Please take some time and try to enjoy some of the many events planned for both current students, faculty, staff, and alumni!!
This will be my first fall season in Western NY, and I look forward to seeing what the fall colors look like up here!
Thanks again for all that you do!

Required Annual Cybersecurity Awareness Training — This year we are conducting our required Annual Cybersecurity Awareness Training during Cybersecurity Awareness Month in October. Staff, faculty, retirees, emeriti, and partners who have SUNY Brockport accounts will receive an email to complete this training in our Knowbe4 training platform. The training takes approximately 45 minutes to complete. Campus members will receive email reminders until the training is complete. The campaign ends October 31.
Shout out to Environmental Health and Safety for the success close out of the annual fire and life inspection by the Office of Fire Prevention and Control with no requests for extensions this year! We would also like to thank Scott Bennett, Fire and Life Safety Coordinator (pictured here with the Fire Marshal), and Beth Gregory, Assistant Director of Environmental Health & Safety, for all that they do to support fire and life safety compliance for the University - from providing students with training to working with facilities and other departments on safety programs. This hardworking team plays an essential role in making sure our campus is safe — we appreciate all that they do!
