We have hit December! This semester has flown by. It’s been a very successful stretch for our area and the University in general. We will have numerous opportunities to thank everyone and celebrate during the coming weeks.
News and Notes …
o Next Wednesday (Dec. 6) is Kerry’s last day as a member of the Advancement & Communications team and I want to thank him for his contributions to Brockport over the past 11.5 years. We really ramped up both our alumni and annual giving efforts under his leadership and his creativity, humor, and many other skills and attributes will truly be missed. KG, best of luck at Cortland!
o As I noted last month, please communicate with your supervisors on your semester-break work schedule. We have discussed plans and options at divisional leadership meetings.
o Solar Eclipse planning continues. As we await final word from SUNY around the “events/parking passes,” planning around safety, merchandise, marketing, town halls, entertainment, and all other aspects of the day continue. The expectation is that we will hold a couple of town halls meetings early in the spring semester, so stay tuned for more.
o Advancement has received confirmation from the Office of the State Comptroller (OSC) that we do not need to do a Request For Proposal (RFP) for our purchase of Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge/NXT. That’s great news, but the process will still take some time as it works its way through Procurement, SUNY, the Attorney General’s Office, and OSC (again). But it is moving!
