Year 2, Issue 8: January 26, 2024

The 2024 spring semester kicks off on Monday morning. We currently have more than 6,600 students registered, a significant increase over Jan. 2023. Thanks to everyone for your assistance – large or small – in getting us to this number. Applications for the fall semester also are well ahead of last year’s pace.

In the News!

  • Today marks 73 days until the Solar Eclipse (April 8). Our campus committee of 25+ is working through all details and logistics related to event passes, parking, communication, health and safety, merchandise, and so much more. Our next big effort will be around staffing, so please let Kaci know if you have a specific role you would like to be a part of, or lead. Info on specific roles will be coming out very soon.
  • Soon after the Eclipse will be Commencement (May 17), with the “Almost Alum Block Party” the day before. Any and all assistance from A&C team members is encouraged.
  • Next month, President Macpherson and I will begin our advocacy work related to the state budget with visits to our assembly and senate members.
  • The Communications team continues to work with our partners at White Whale on the new institutional website. The expectation is that it will launch before the end of March.
  • Advancement has entered into an agreement with Empreinte Consulting on some grant writing projects associated with the Comprehensive Campaign.
