Year 2, Issue 10: March 28, 2024

It has been an eventful month with the record-breaking Day of Giving, launch of the phenomenal new website, and continued prep for the solar eclipse. Thanks to all for the great work you are doing to advance our fine university!

In the News!

  • We have some new team members who have recently joined us or will be a part of the team soon after Commencement:
    • Mary Goodwin started in a part-time support role for both Advancement (gift processing) and University Events (Eclipse and Commencement) on March 14.
    • Today is Hillary Brintle’s first day as the Scholarship Coordinator in Advancement.
    • And Grace Wentlent will shed her intern status for the full-time Graphic Designer role when she graduates in May. Welcome to all three new members of the team!
  • The Day of Giving brought in more than $210,000 from better than 1,550 gifts supporting all different campus funds. Donnie and team pulled off a fantastic campaign. Thank you to all who participated.
  • The new website is getting rave reviews across campus and is a perfect new tool as we continue to ramp up our student recruitment efforts. Kudos to our partners at White Whale and the entire University Communications team for the monumental work that went into the new site.
  • It is just 11 days until the Solar Eclipse (April 8). Safety, security, logistics, entertainment, parking, food trucks … it will be a busy day. The team leading the planning – including Dan, Kaci, Anthony, Stevie, Kevin, Darcy, John F., and others from our Division – has done a magnificent job of organizing the countless aspects of the day. All is on track. The expectation is that event pass sales will be large on the day of the eclipse, especially if the weather is good (fingers crossed). Thanks to everyone who will be spending the day outside the office and helping create a hospitable environment for our guests.
