In the News!
- This is a special stretch on the calendar as we gather with family, friends, and colleagues numerous times over the course of the next several weeks to celebrate holidays and homecomings; the end of classes, finals, and the fall semester; and the conclusion of one year and the start of the next. With Thanksgiving upon us, I want to thank all of you for making this year special and memorable with your exceptional work and dedication to moving our university forward. I love working with all of you and wish you the very best during this holiday season.
- When we return to campus on Monday there will be just one week of classes remaining in the semester, followed by exam week for the students. As you talk with students, remind them that the Brockport Foundation scholarship cycle for 2025-26 is underway and runs through Feb. 15. Hundreds of thousands of dollars are available so encourage students to apply. Here’s a link: Scholarships
- We have booked our annual summer outing at Innovative Field, home of the Rochester Red Wings. We will have the Silver Stadium Suite again this year on Thursday, June 12, for a 1:05 pm first pitch against the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp (I didn’t make that up). Bring your appetite!
- Just some reminders about the upcoming holidays and winter shutdown plans:
- This Friday, Nov. 29, is typically taken as a day off using the floating holiday from Election Day. If you are working, please be sure to coordinate with your supervisor regarding work plans and projects.
- Monday, Dec. 23 through Friday, Jan. 3, 2025, employees are encouraged to take time off by using appropriate accruals, or they may work on campus, or work remotely if their job and supervisor permits. Again, please be sure to coordinate with your supervisor regarding work plans and projects.
- Because of the on-going campus electrical project, there will be NO POWER on campus on Dec. 27 and 28. Please be aware of this as you make your plans.
- In addition, our Division has the privilege of working from home five days of every two-week pay period starting Dec. 23 and running through Jan. 21. Please share your weekly plans with your supervisor and with Amy so that this information can be coordinated.
