Description
The purpose of the fully online EdD program in Educational Leadership is to allow students to develop critical leadership skills and acquire the knowledge required to implement systemic change across educational organizations, such as PK-12 institutions, as well as two and four-year higher education institutions. Graduates will be ready to address cross-functional challenges, identify and implement growth opportunities, and foster effective learning environments based on data-driven processes.
Admission to the Program
Students seeking admission to the program are expected to hold a master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0. Students must have a minimum of 3 years in a professional field. All applicants must submit a comprehensive application package that includes a statement of objectives, current resume, two professional or academic references, and a completed video application component. Students who have successfully completed the Master of Science in Education (MSEd) in Higher Education Administration from SUNY Brockport and maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.7 or higher are eligible to apply through an abbreviated application process that streamlines certain admissions requirements. Students who are eligible for an abbreviated application will receive further communication from the Graduate Program Director.

Notes:
- Students must take six credits per semester, as this program is a cohort model.
- Courses must be taken in Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters.
- Students must maintain a 3.0 or higher to graduate.
- Students must complete and defend their dissertation within Dissertation 3—Capstone to graduate.
Student Learning Outcomes
Graduates of the program will work in a diverse range of settings including school districts and higher education institutions. Graduates could serve in a variety of positions in a higher education institution, including but not limited to instructor and administrator.
