Jennifer Hecker, professor of art, will serve as juror for the 37th Rosen National Sculpture Competition and Exhibition. The competition has showcased contemporary American sculpture in outdoor settings across the campus of Appalachian State University for the last 36 years. 
Four Art Majors’ Work Selected for “Best of SUNY” Exhibition

Merve Duyar, senior (BFA); Brian Jimenez, junior (BS); Rosalie Santiago, senior (BFA); and Nicole Toland junior (BFA), each had works selected for inclusion in the “Best of SUNY” juried art exhibition. Seven works in all from these four students were included in the statewide show.

Jennifer Hecker currently has work on display in two nationally adjudicated exhibitions. “Rain Maker” is in the 8th Annual Glass National exhibition at the Workhouse Arts Center in Lorton, Virginia, while “Rain Rustler” is part of Transcending the West, an exhibition at the Artworks Center for Contemporary Art in Loveland, Colorado. “Relics of the Here and Now” is an exhibition of Jennifer Hecker’s mixed-media sculptures and Juan Perdiguero’s ink drawings. The Opening Reception will be held on Saturday, February 26 from 3-6 pm at Main Street Arts in Clifton Springs, NY.
