Human Subject Research Training

Researchers participating in Human Subject Research at SUNY Brockport are required to take the course “Group 2. Faculty, staff, graduate students and undergraduate students- Human Research.” All members of a study research team must have complete and valid CITI certification in this course in order for a study to be eligible for approval. New personnel added to studies must also complete this course prior to joining the study.

A refresher course is available for students and faculty who need to renew their Group 2 training before the certification expires. It can be added via the curriculum questionnaire in CITI.

When registering for CITI – please ensure you utilize your SUNY Brockport email, as the study submission platform (PACS) used by the IRB pulls information directly from CITI, but can only do so if SUNY Brockport credentials are used during the account creation process. Researchers also are advised to use the exact spelling and format of their first / last names during account creation to ensure cross-platform communication.
