  • Text is concise with no errors.
  • Images/Graphs are appropriate and labelled.
  • The poster contributes to the author’s presentation.
3 The project goal is clear, but the relevance is poorly explained. Research method is mostly appropriate and explained, and if relevant literature review or controls are not fully explained in presentation or poster. Results/Conclusions are mostly clear and logical, mostly connected to methods.
  • Clear presentation is appropriate for academic audience.
  • Uses poster to illustrate. Answers all questions, but not fully.
  • Knows the content but may have some missing information.
  • Components present but may not be clearly laid out.
  • Small mistakes or poorly chosen images/graphs.
2 Either project goal or relevance missing. Research methods, and if relevant, literature review or controls, are missing from presentation or poster Results/Conclusions are unclear, disconnected from methods.
  • Trouble speaking clearly.
  • Pitches talk at a specialist audience.
  • Does not use the poster fully.
  • Does not answer all questions.
  • Incomplete knowledge of the project.
  • Main components are present, but poster may be hard to follow or poorly laid out.
  • Has mistakes/typos.
1 Project goal and relevance are missing. Does not address any of the research methods. Results and conclusions are missing. Little knowledge of the research project. Poster does not contribute to an overall understanding of the project or scholarly work.
