Journalism & Broadcasting Major

Learn how to shape a narrative and tell stories that will make a difference.

Publish written work as early as your first year with The Stylus, our completely student-run newspaper.

Why Journalism & Broadcasting (JRB)?

Media impacts our politics, economy, and culture. Learn to craft compelling stories, research sources and subjects, pitch stories to the media, and edit video productions.

Our students choose between three concentrations to fine tune their degree to best fit their dream career.

Media Production

The audio and video production industry is booming. Through the power of TikTok, YouTube, and other streaming platforms, anybody can distribute their content to the world – but that doesn’t mean they know how to properly produce it. That’s where we come in.

Multimedia Journalism

Write for digital, print, or broadcast media. From political campaigns to sports coverage, gain the necessary skills to create the stories you want to tell.

Public Relations

Ever tire of reading Wendy’s roast their competition on X? Neither do we. Public relations is more than just saving face. Our students learn how organizations build relationships with the stakeholders that are important to them.
