Tutor Award Program

The purpose of the Academic Success Center Outstanding Learning Assistant Award Program is to recognize Learning Assistants whose work is exemplary and demonstrates a commitment to student success.

Each month ASC Learning assistance will recognize the work of outstanding learning assistants.
Nominate a Learning assistant

Selection Criteria

The following criteria will be used to select the learning assistants:

  1. A learning assistant who possesses an outstanding work ethic.
  2. A learning assistant who possesses excellent learning assistance strategies, including the ability to explain course content, model problem-solving strategies and/or course-specific study strategies.
  3. A learning assistant who possesses excellent interpersonal communications skills.
  4. A learning assistant who goes above and beyond to assist students in terms of scheduling flexibility or adapting learning assistance strategies to meet the needs of students with disabilities.
  5. A returning learning assistant who has worked at the ASC for several semesters and whose experience makes them the “go-to” person for that subject.
  6. A learning assistant who maintains communication with the professor of the class for whom they tutor.
  7. A learning assistant whose friendly, positive disposition enhances the work environment of the ASC.
