Uploading Materials to the Repository

Faculty are encouraged to upload article postprints (a journal article after it has been peer reviewed and accepted for publication, but before it has been typeset and formatted by the journal), white papers, research reports, and other material that have been published as open access or meet journal embargo policy.

Students are encouraged to upload master’s theses, capstone projects, honors papers, dissertations, and creative works with advisor and/or departmental approval.

Please use the appropriate form below to submit your work. Please submit one article/report/etc. (including supplementary materials) at a time.

Check to see that you have all the information required to upload your material. This includes any permissions you need, approvals of theses, as well as copy editing. Once the item appears in the repository, you will be unable to edit it.

If you are using images, charts, or other items that were published in a book or journal article, or taken from a database, you must have copyright permission to publish those items in our open-access repository. Visit the Brockport Copyright page for more information.

All content must meet accessibility guidelines. Visit the Foundations of Accessible Content page for more information.

You will be asked to validate that you have checked all necessary copyright permissions and that your work meets accessibility standards. It is the responsibility of the author to ensure that all necessary requirements are met. The library reserves the right to decline or remove materials that do not follow library policy.

Word (.doc or .docx) materials are preferred; contact library staff if you have questions about other formats.

The time to upload is generally two - three weeks. If you submitted an item and cannot find it in the SOAR repository after three - four weeks, please contact the Library and you will be directed to the librarian currently in charge of the repository.
