Spring Edition of Careers in Computing was a Success
On April 16, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, and Cybersecurity students came out in large numbers to attend the Spring Careers in Computing event.
The Department of Computing Sciences has a long history of hosting this event every semester. The event enables students to connect directly with local technology employers. The first hour of the event is dedicated to a panel discussion related to technology career preparation followed by a networking luncheon.
This Spring, a new student showcase piece was added onto the event where students were able to highlight their technology projects to employers and other students.
Students also had the opportunity to participate in mock interviews with an employer - allowing them to obtain valuable feedback to strengthen their interviewing skills.
Through connections made at this event, Computing Sciences students land internships and full-time opportunities.
The following employer partners participated at the Spring Careers in Computing event:
Belvista Software, LLC
ComTec Solutions
Excellus
Mainline Information Systems
M&T Bank
Montefiore Einstein
Odoo Inc.
Paychex
This event was organized in collaboration between the Department of Computing Sciences and the Career Design Center.
