After taking part in the June 3 - 5, 2025, onboarding program on Governors Island, Crounse will be interning at the Albany (NY) Times Union, and Jones will intern at the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle.
Crounse, who will be Editor in Chief of The Stylus in Fall 2025, played on SUNY Brockport’s 2024 Women’s Soccer Team, and interned with 585 Magazine in Rochester in Spring 2025. Jones, who will be Managing Editor of The Stylus and News Director of Talon TV in Fall 2025, has served as an Admissions Ambassador since August 2024, and served as Music Director of 89.1 the Point for one and a half years.
According to SUNY, “The Institute for Local News (ILN) at SUNY engages students in university-led reporting programs with local media partners to bolster local news coverage while giving students real-world learning experiences in multi-media story-telling and communications.” SUNY Brockport’s Canalside Chronicles.com, a student-produced news website for the Greater Brockport community produced as part of journalism students’ required coursework in Kim Young’s Community Journalism class, is part of the SUNY ILN.
