For Madi Hiddie ’22, Brockport wasn’t just where she earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees — it was where she discovered her passion for helping others succeed.

After completing her bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Hiddie chose to continue her journey at Brockport as an Experiential Learning Program Coordinator in the Center for Career Design and Experiential Learning. Today, she prepares Golden Eagles for their future by allowing them to discover their career interests.
Originally choosing Brockport because of its convenient location, Hiddie quickly found a campus community where she felt connected and inspired to stay — first as a student and now as an employee.
“I quickly fell in love with how much Brockport felt like a home away from home, and I soon felt a sense of belonging I had never expected,” Hiddie said. “I truly fell in love with the environment here and decided I never wanted to leave.”
Her experiences as an undergraduate student, including an internship in Undergraduate Admissions, helped shape her career path and reinforced her desire to go onto graduate school with a desire to mentor students as they navigate their own educational and professional journeys.

“I learned about my love for helping others find what they are passionate about,” Hiddie said. “I have been pursuing that same thought ever since.”
Today, Hiddie carries that passion into her work by creating inclusive, welcoming environments where students can explore opportunities, build confidence, and achieve their goals.
Hiddie’s guiding philosophy is simple: “Be someone who helps make those spaces welcoming.”
