Cassandra McCormack ’26 currently serves as a Prior Authorization and Referral Specialist at the University of Rochester, where she assists patient care coordination and ensures that necessary processes are completed efficiently for both patients and providers.

After earning her bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, McCormack continued her education at Brockport in the Healthcare Administration (MHA) program to deepen her knowledge of the field and prepare for future leadership opportunities. The program’s flexibility allowed her to pursue her master’s degree while balancing her professional and personal responsibilities.
“Brockport offered the opportunity to pursue my education in a way that allowed me to balance my responsibilities while continuing to work toward my future goals in healthcare administration,” said McCormack. “Hard work and persistence can help you achieve your goals, even when life is demanding.”
Throughout her graduate education, McCormack learned how to manage competing priorities, including using calendars, task lists, and deadlines to stay organized and breaking down larger assignments into manageable steps.
“Through my educational journey, I have learned the importance of discipline, flexibility, and proactive planning,” said McCormack.
McCormack’s experience at Brockport reinforced the value of determination and lifelong learning — lessons she hopes to pass on to her own children.
“Going back to school has shown me how to be a positive role model for my children by demonstrating the value of hard work, perseverance, and education,” McCormack said.
Now, as a Brockport alum, McCormack is looking ahead to opportunities in healthcare leadership. She hopes to use her education and professional experience to improve healthcare operations, support patients and staff, and contribute to more effective and compassionate healthcare organizations.
