Description
The Accounting Minor is designed to provide a basic foundation in accounting for students who are interested in being conversant in the language of business. It gives a practical edge to any student planning to work for themselves, and pairs well with other majors such as criminal justice, marketing, and graphic design.
Admission to the Program
The Accounting Minor is open to all majors except students majoring in accounting.
Undergraduate students must meet the following requirements to declare the minor:
- Completed 30 credits at Brockport
- Overall GPA of 2.5 or higher, and
- Grade of “C” or higher in one of the following courses: MTH 111, MTH 122, MTH 201, MTH 202, MTH 221, or MTH 281
Program Requirements
The Accounting Minor consists of 18 credits of selected course work as described below, with a minimum of 9 of the 18 credits being completed at Brockport. After matriculation, all 400-level courses must be taken at Brockport.
A student’s cumulative GPA in Brockport courses used to satisfy requirements of the minor must be at least 2.0.
