Social Media Major

Description

The Social Media Major prepares students for careers in the rapidly growing field of social media. The major consists of 42 credits. At least 21 credits (7 courses) must be taken at Brockport. All students must complete a minor (typically 18-21 credit hours) or a second major (typically approximately 36 credit hours). Students in the Social Media Major are not permitted to minor in Social Media. Students should take JRB 222 Social Media Literacy, JRB 221 Social Media Writing, and JRB 242 Intro to Media in their first three semesters at Brockport. Students must earn at least a C in those courses to continue in the major. This interdisciplinary major is housed in the Department of Journalism & Social Media.
