Saturday of Service

What is Saturday of Service?

Incoming students will take part in a variety of service projects as part of welcome week on the Saturday before classes begin.

While this event is geared towards first-year students, we are calling on the help of returning students, faculty, and staff as well as community partners to help make this event a success!

New students

Incoming students will take part in a variety of service projects (including gardening, cleaning, painting, etc.) as a way to get them acclimated to the region and introduce them to the ways they can get involved.

First year students can sign up for their Saturday of Service site on Eagles Serve. More information will be provided at summer orientation.

Team leaders

Current students, faculty, and staff are invited to become Team Leaders for our Saturday of Service event.

Team Leaders support new students by joining them at their sites to help lead the experience, connecting with the site supervisor, and ensuring students are performing the activity safely.

Community partners

To make this event a success, we are calling on local groups to bring in a group of student volunteers for the afternoon. Transportation will be provided; all you need to do is devise the service project and provide any necessary materials. If you are part of a non-profit or government agency, or you know someone who is and would be interested, please email serve@brockport.edu to sign up!
