Program Description
Do you sometimes feel like a fraud or inadequate, despite typically being confident and capable? University students and individuals in healthcare and leadership roles (women more so than men) experience Imposter Syndrome - the inner fear of being discovered as not good enough or not knowing as much as you should, even if you are high-functioning and high-achieving normally in your school and work activities. Paralysis, perfectionism, people-pleasing, and procrastination are often associated with this syndrome (Josa, 2019). But there is good news! You can learn to minimize the times when you feel like an imposter! By understanding the triggers that ignite negative self-talk, your ‘inner critic’, or pervasive self-doubt, you can learn to feel safe and be the authentic, confident person, professional or leader you want to be.
The purpose of this webinar is to cultivate greater awareness of the Imposter Syndrome. Key characteristics of this syndrome and how it limits confidence and performance will be discussed.
