Sledge/Benedict Fellows are selected primarily on the basis of a work of undergraduate research. The paper for which Kaleigh was nominated is titled “Null Curriculum: Through Two Voices in New York State Elementary Curriculum,” which she wrote for a class taught by Prof. Cody Miller.
Kaleigh’s educational journey at Brockport has been immensely rewarding. Shortly after she graduates with her bachelor’s in Childhood Inclusive Education, she plans to begin graduate school at Brockport, studying literacy education for all grades. Her goal is to complete the master’s program in one year by being a full-time student. After this program, she plans to fulfill her dream of becoming a teacher and making a difference in her students’ lives.
