Her aspirations for graduate study are based not only on her Brockport coursework and thesis research, but also on internships at the American Eurasia Center in Washington DC, and in NY Senator Kirsten Gilibrand’s Rochester office, serving the Rochester and Finger Lakes region. If she receives the scholarship, she will complete an MA in Gender and Politics at the University of York and an MScR in English Literature at the University of Edinburgh.

Makayla Seidle-Beach, a double major in political science and international studies with minors in African American studies and dance, applied for a Marshall Scholarship to fund two master’s programs in the United Kingdom after graduation.
