The Learning Assistance Center Math Tutor Graduate Assistant facilitates
student learning by assisting small groups of students in their learning of math
topics. This position assists students by encouraging them to practice good
study habits, offering learning strategies that students can employ to help
themselves become better independent learners, and helping them understand
mathematical concepts across a variety of courses. The GA is required to
participate in training activities designed to hone their tutoring skills.
Additionally, as part of their 20 hours/week obligation, the GA is expected to
participate in recruitment events including but not limited to open houses,
accepted student days, and other special events that are appropriate.
