A: The Academic Success Center’s Coordinator, Jianna Howard. She showed me how to persevere even in times of hardship and gave me a space to vent when I needed it.
Q: Who do you look up to in the Black Community?
A: I look up to my peers because they have shown me the importance of both individuality and community. The way everyone comes together to build a shared sense of belonging within the Brockport community is what inspires me most.
Q: How has Brockport impacted you?
A: Brockport has shown me how to live. Here, I’ve made countless connections and bonds, such that I’m positive that I’ll have these connections forever.

A: If you think you can do it, you can. So, do it!
Q: How can others celebrate Black History Month?
A: By learning about the Black community on campus and attending events around campus!
