Central to Rachel’s application was her Honors thesis project, consisting of a survey and analysis of lesbians in Erie and Monroe counties. The purpose of her project was to identify any correlations between lesbians who have experienced compulsory heterosexuality and lesbians who experienced negative mental health effects related to their identity.

Rachel Kinsey, a senior majoring in social work and women & gender studies, applied for an Alpha Chi National Honors Society Sledge/Benedict fellowship to support her graduate study in social work at Binghamton University starting this Fall.
