A Successful Spring Edition of Careers in Computing

On March 17, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, and Cybersecurity students came out in large numbers to attend the Spring Careers in Computing event.

This event was organized in collaboration between the Department of Computing Sciences and the Career Design Center.

For over 15 years, the Department of Computing Sciences has been hosting this event every semester. In recent years, the event has evolved and significantly expanded with almost 100 students attending each semester.

The event enables students to connect directly with local technology employers. The first hour of the event is dedicated to a panel discussion related to technology career preparation followed by a networking luncheon.

This Spring, students also had the opportunity to participate in mock interviews with three employers - allowing them to obtain valuable feedback to strengthen their interviewing skills. Moreover, a Student Showcase segment was integrated into the event that allowed students to present their technology-based projects to attending employers and fellow peers.

Through connections made at this event, Computing Sciences students land internships and full-time opportunities.

The following employer partners participated at the Spring Careers in Computing event:

  • Canandaigua National Bank
  • ComTec Solutions
  • dunnhumby
  • Excellus
  • Honeywell
  • Info Advantage
  • M&T Bank
