One of the greatest rewards is seeing the progress of your students. From when students understand a difficult concept, to helping students learn a new skill, seeing the students successfully achieve their career goals.
What is the one thing you hope students take away from your course(s)?
The material in my class will often seem “easy” while you are reading your text or watching me do problems in class. However, if you want to succeed in this class, you must spend time every day DOING your homework and projects.
What are the real-world applications of the work you do at the University?
I designed an audit working paper project that trains students to use their audit knowledge and skills for real-world applications.
Audit working papers are the documents prepared by auditors during an audit engagement. They are the basic requirements for auditors.

What advice would you give to a student who wants to be successful?
1. Expand your skillset: Keep your work duties varied so you do not get pigeon-holed into one area of accounting.
2. Become more tech-savvy: Use technology effectively to improve processes and create efficiencies is vital to add value in your day-to-day role.
What is the focus of your scholarly pursuits?
I have been working on mainstream financial accounting research. So far I have five referred journal publications, ten peer-reviewed conference proceedings and presentations, two student-faculty engagement conference proceedings, and one honor senior thesis.
