SUNY Brockport’s MSW Program Ranked #3 in New York

SUNY Brockport’s MSW program was ranked the third best MSW program in the state by counselingpsychology.org. The website ranked institutions MSW programs based on “completion rates, cost of living, institutional competitiveness, program diversity, and faculty expertise” – all areas in which Brockport’s program thrives.

Brockport’s MSW program is located at Brockport Downtown, in the heart of Rochester, NY and offers flexible points of entry for applicants. Counselingpshychology.org recognized Brockport’s flexibility course and program options as a key contributing factor to the ranking.

Brockport offers courses both in the day and evening to accommodate students that may be working while pursuing their MSW. traditional 60-credit program can be completed full-time in two years or part-time in three years, while the 36-credit Advanced Standing program (available to students with a Bachelor of Social Work degree) can be completed in full-time in three semesters or part-time in five semesters.

The program’s intensive curriculum, including its field experience opportunities, also played a role in its ranking. All students must take part in internships with one of 250 local agencies partnered with the institution. The agencies cover a variety of jobs within the field including child/public welfare, mental health, gerontology, and more.
