Committee Charge
About the Committee
The Strategic Plan Committee is responsible for overseeing the University’s progress towards achieving the plan’s goals and outcomes. Reporting to President’s Cabinet and providing regular updates to JPBC, the Strategic Plan Committee will generally meet monthly and is charged with the following:
- Coordinate the implementation and assessment of the Building a Better Brockport 2022-2027 Strategic Plan.
- Form and charge four Goal Groups to operationalize the strategic plan. Regularly collect updates from each goal group on progress towards goals.
- Review strategies from the original strategic plan, determine if progress has been made to implement them, and identify other potential efforts to advance the future of the university. Work with Goal Groups on the implementation of potential addition and/or revision of strategies.
- Collect and analyze measurable progress towards achieving the strategic plan’s goals and outcomes.
- Ensure the collection of information is aligned with institutional budget timelines, as well as divisional and departmental assessment timelines. Aim to utilize existing annual reporting processes to reduce the burden on reporting areas and units.
- Analyze data and the degree to which progress has been made.
- Track resources utilized, and requested, related to the University’s strategic plan.
- Create an end of year report to provide to the President which includes an overview of the work of each Goal Group and the assessment of Strategic Plan progress.
- Develop and implement a communication plan to ensure that students, faculty, staff, and community members are aware of progress and outcomes on a regular basis.
- Providing regular updates to the University throughout the academic year (expected 2 times per year)
- Creating a comprehensive annual report and a high-level executive summary on an annual basis.
