Military Leave

Leave for Military Duty

Pursuant to the New York State Military Law, an employee is eligible for leave(s) of absence with pay for ordered military duty for up to 30 calendar days or 22 workdays (whichever provides the greater benefit to the employee) in each calendar year. Military leave with pay may not be used in less than full day units.

A copy of the employee’s military orders must be submitted to the Benefits and Payroll Office. If a copy of the employee’s orders are not available prior to the commencement of military duty, the employee will be placed on leave of absence without pay pending receipt of the orders in the Benefits and Payroll Office.

When completing time records, employees should report time for this allowance as Military Leave.
