Specialize for a medical career you’ll love.

Medicine (MD & DO)

Become a physician or a surgeon. Examine illness and injury, prescribe medication, perform diagnostic tests, operate on patients, and learn to provide a holistic approach to health.

Physician Assistant (PA)

Physician assistants work in all areas of medicine, including primary care and family medicine, emergency medicine, surgery, and psychiatry. PAs can switch between specialty areas without returning to school for additional training, and often have a more flexible schedule than physicians.

Dentistry (DDS or DMD)

Dentists diagnose and treat problems with patients’ teeth, gums, and related parts of the mouth. Dentistry is a four-year professional program, which is followed by a 1-year residency for licensure in New York.

Veterinary Medicine (DVM)

Veterinarians care for the health of animals and work to improve public health. They treat the injuries and illnesses of pets and other animals with a variety of medical equipment, including surgical tools and x-ray and ultrasound machines, similar to the care of a physician for humans.

Pharmacy (PharmD)

Pharmacists dispense prescription medications to patients and offer expertise in the safe use of prescriptions. If you’re interested in pharmacy, consider joining our accelerated BS/PharmD Program in partnership with the University of Buffalo.
