Policy Statement

The Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act (EADA) requires co-educational institutions of post-secondary education that participate in Title IV federal student financial assistance programs and have intercollegiate athletic programs to submit annual reports on athletic participation, staffing, and revenues/expenses to the Department of Education.

Purpose/Scope

The purpose of the EADA is to make prospective student-athletes aware of a university’s commitment to provide equal athletic opportunities for its students.

Applicability

This policy applies to SUNY Brockport’s Department of Athletics.

Policy Procedures

The Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act requires co-educational institutions of post-secondary education that participate in a Title IV, federal student financial assistance program, and have an intercollegiate athletic program, to prepare an annual report to the Department of Education on athletic participation, staffing, and revenues and expenses, by men’s and women’s teams. The Department will use this information in preparing its required report to Congress on gender equity in intercollegiate athletics.
