About the Committee
The Advisory Board shall be composed of five (5) student members, one (1) faculty member, three (3) administrative members, one (1) Enrollment Management and Student Affairs (EMSA) staff member, one (1) Brockport Auxiliary Services Corporation (BASC) member and one (1) The College at Brockport alumni representative.
The student members shall be:
- The BSG President or Vice President or designee
- The Residence Hall Association President or designee
- One (1) Student-At- Large appointed by the BSG President or designee
- One (1) Student-At- Large appointed by the Club Sport Advisory Council
- One (1) Student-At- Large (employee) appointed by the Director for Campus Recreation
Mission & Goals
- The Board shall serve as the primary advisory committee to the Director for Campus Recreation in all matters related to Campus Recreation at SUNY Brockport. The Board shall review and approve the purpose statement and philosophy for the SERC and Campus Recreation at SUNY Brockport.
- The Board shall review and recommend all policies regarding operation, scheduling, and access to the SERC. The policies shall represent the views of students, faculty/staff, and alumni, and will be recommended to the Director for Campus Recreation for consideration and implementation. The policies shall allow for effective operation of the SERC and delivery of service to the constituent groups, with first priority being given to the students of SUNY Brockport. Day to day management regarding the facility, programs and discipline will remain with the Director for Campus Recreation.
- The Board shall review and recommend student fees associated with the SERC. The Board shall provide financial oversight through the review of financial reports, and budget and act in an advisory capacity to the Director for Campus Recreation in all fiscal matters.
- The Board shall review and recommend hours for classes, athletic practice times, as well as Campus Recreation hours of operation (informal recreation, intramurals and club sports) to the Director for Campus Recreation.
