When can I move out?
ALL STUDENTS need to be checked out of your residence hall/student townhomes 24 hours after their last final. All residence halls/student townhomes will close Thursday, May 14 at 7:00pm.

Only certain circumstances will be approved to stay late, please email your Resident Director for approval.
Before leaving, ensure the following is completed:

Nothing is plugged into outlets

Windows are closed and locked

Blinds are down and open. Close blinds if your room is on first floor

All lights are turned off
-
All doors are locked/secured

Rooms are CLEAN: floors are vacuumed, surfaces are wiped down, and all trash is placed in trash rooms
24-hour quiet hours
24-hour quiet hours will be in effect beginning on Wednesday, May 6 at 8:00am.

1. Clean Up
Your side of the room needs to be completely cleaned out and arranged back the way it was when you moved in. Make sure any trash you’re disposing of is in the designated trash rooms. Do not leave trash in the hallways or stairwells. If you’re found in violation of this, disciplinary action may be taken through Student Conduct.
As you work on moving out, if you find that you have a lot more to take back than your car can hold, we’ve got a solution for you! Donate your items to the University’s Trash to Treasure program.

2. Keys & Mail
When you check out, you will be turning in your room key (if applicable). If you don’t turn in your room key, you will be charged a re-key fee. If you’ve lost your key, please notify your RD ASAP! Make sure your temporary mailing address is updated for any online ordering you’ve done/may do – the Student Union Package Room will be closing Finals Week.

3. Check-Out
Go to RA office to let the RA or RD know you are all set to check out. Turn in room key (if applicable) to the RA or RD. The RA or RD will escort you to your previous room, to complete a brief check-out inspection. If no one is present, please use on of our express check-out envelopes and place the envelope in the designated bin. Travel safely home and enjoy your summer!
